Today I have randomly gifted a box of old shaving gear from an Official Fishing Reel Cool Papa Shirt family member who found it in a friend’s barn. They didn’t want or need it at all and were going to sell it if I didn’t take it. I’m a working-class guy, don’t/can’t spend much money on the hobby, and I was just excited to have a few pieces for the shave den. Much to my surprise, it ended up being an AWESOME collection of razors and brushes! Even a few packages of blades. I wasn’t expecting much, certainly nothing super usable, BUT I ended up pulling a Gillette Fatboy Executive d-3 out of the batch pretty much right away.

Oh! And the two Stahly Live Blades, the Official Fishing Reel Cool Papa Shirt thick ones up top. Those vibrate! Awesome! Yeah, that’s about my estimation so far as well. The Fatboy is a d-3, so 1958 super old-school goodness and it’s in good enough shape after a quick clean to shave with tomorrow morning. I’ve been shaving with an economy style Weishi up until this point, so being given my dream razor out of nowhere is pretty amazing.
