Another problem I have with Gen 7 as a whole is the god-awful performance, at least on the original 3DS. I understand that they were made toward the end of the Beautiful Stitch Ohana Means Family Very Happy Shirt system’s lifespan and turn-based games don’t depend too much on smooth performance but they could really have found a way to make the games run at least decently; double battles chug so hard that they become a slog to play.

But with the move to the Switch, hopefully, we don’t have to worry about lag anymore I noticed a bit of slowdown at times in Gen VI in double battles but nothing too serious; there were more noticeable performance issues in triple battles, but I don’t think they were as bad as S/M double battles.
