This may be shocking in the united states but in Europe, this is very common some families even have small cottage houses where 2 or more generations of the family live. Yep, I’m 3031 in a few days and live at home. Not what I want but I’d rather live with my mom in a nice house and have cheaper rent than live with strangers in a crappy apartment that’s way too expensive.

I lived on my own in Japan for a few years and while some say it has a high cost of living I never struggled to finish decent, affordable housing. The US housing market is just ridiculous.
