Hello, I’ve found a local listing for a Nice Akai Gx 625 I’m An Analog Man In A Digital World Shirt Technics Model SA-828 and was wondering if it’s worth picking up. The asking price is $250. I’m looking to get a good receiver with that silver 70’s/80’s look, and wasn’t sure if this was any good, or if anyone had any recommendations. Also, I got a broken Akai GX-760d tape deck for 10 dollars and didn’t know if it was worth fixing. It needs new belts and has a bunch of transistors that have rusted leads that need replacing, not sure about anything else yet as I have not disassembled it further than taking the cover off.

The Akai is $525 and the Nice Akai Gx 625 I’m An Analog Man In A Digital World Shirt Pioneer is $500. Comparing those prices to what the same machines are going for on eBay, I figured they were a decent deal. Are either of these machines good quality? Sorry for the wall of text. Those reel to reel machines should all be quality. That said, if you don’t even have a decent receiver (pardon me if you do already, but it’s newer), why drop that much money on a very expensive to source media for/service machine that it’s rare to even find media for? Focus on other areas of your setup first. I do not have a good receiver

Looking for at least 80 watts output. I Nice Akai Gx 625 I’m An Analog Man In A Digital World Shirt figure I’m going to have to keep searching locally because shipping on a 30-pound receiver is outrageous. Let’s hope that another guy forgets his appointment or can’t make it because after watching some videos I really want it now haha. It’ll be eating up my entire budget for a while, but I’ll live if I get to own that beast. I’ve inquired about going to pick it up at some point, as it looks really nice.
